Now that fall's coming around again and we have to wear are hoodies sometimes, I thought it be nice to party w/ a fresh site. You might know that Drupal's hella cool for lot's of reasons. It's huge community, many modules, custom content types, integrations, etc., make this framework ideal and useful for all kinds of applications. But how about as a backend for Flex 2 applications? There are already articles that describe the modules needed and how to configure a flex app to work with drupal.

On this site, I'll be spending some time learning to create compelling Flex/Drupal apps. With Drupal's robust categorization and Flex's UI, I can see this combination as promising across a range of use. Take a site like KPSU. They have extensive records and files maintained in the course of providing online services to their college radio station. It's an awesome Drupal site with tons of content (music) and doesn't need to be flexed, but the possibility of a site with similar goals going the flex/drupal way would be wicked.

Don't take the last paragraph as a promise, it's just an idea for now. Maybe I'll end up with a completely different concept but along the way, I'll be trying different experiences here. A recent example of flex2 and drupal getting together is at flex.org/showcase. Using a flex app as a component of a community website is an elegant way of enriching the user experience without overwhelming with too much flash. HTML's not dead! could be a manifesto for some and that's all good too...
...but around these parts, we like it all!
